The X-Plus 25cm Godzilla 1974 Toho Daikaiju Series was released in late January of 2025. Based on the Mekka goji suit from the 1974 film Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla, this highly detailed figure captures the likeliness of the big G perfectly! We have Monster Maker 28 sculptor Shunsuke Niwa to thank for the love and attention put into this film accurate representation of our favorite King of the Monsters! I’m taking us back to where this suit originally came from, 1973’s Godzilla vs. Megalon. If you remember the SoshingekiGoji suit was finally retired after 4 years and 4 movies. And none to soon, as it was beginning to fall apart in 1972’s Godzilla vs Gigan. The brand new, MegaroGoji suit was built with softer features, including pillow-like dorsal fins, large brown eyes, a rounded-flat snout and articulated eyes and eyelids. These characteristics gave Godzilla a somewhat wholesome and friendly look. Some minor changes were made to this suit for Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla (1974). The articulation in the eyes and eyelids were dropped as well as greater detail added to the muzzle. His eye color was darkened to be completely black. He’s not the specifically portrayed in this film as the kid-friendly hero. This Godzilla is ready to fight and defend his territory! There’s only room for one Godzilla on this planet! Measuring at a height of 31cm, or just over 12”, and a length from front to tail of 34cm or just over 13”. The version represented in this video is the standard version of the X-Plus 25cm Godzilla 1974 . The Shonen Ric Exclusive version includes interchangeable arms. This figure was purchased from Kokomo Toys and Collectibles.
