Toy Department 8th Anniversary

We had an absolute blast celebrating the 8th Anniversary of The Toy Department! 🎉 In this video, my kids and I take you along as we explore one of the coolest collectible toy stores around. From vintage classics to modern must-haves, we browse the aisles, check out some incredible displays, and hunt for awesome finds.

If you love action figures, retro toys, comics, and pop culture collectibles, this place is a dream! We also had the chance to connect with a fellow online creator while we were there (always great meeting members of the toy community!), and we made sure to give a huge shoutout to the amazing staff at Toy Department for being so welcoming and for creating such a fun atmosphere for families and collectors alike.

If you’ve never visited Toy Department, this anniversary celebration was the perfect time to see what makes them special. Thanks for watching and coming along on this adventure with us!

Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters (2017 Trailer Remake)

What if Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters (2017) had an all-new trailer? In this fan-made remake, I reimagine the epic anime film that launched Netflix’s Godzilla trilogy — amplifying the scale, tension, and sheer power of the King of the Monsters. 🌎🔥 This custom trailer edit highlights the desperate return of humanity to a ruined Earth, the haunting sci-fi atmosphere, and the overwhelming presence of the largest Godzilla ever put to screen. Using dynamic cuts, cinematic pacing, and a reworked sound design, this remake aims to capture the awe, tragedy, and apocalyptic intensity that define this bold anime entry in the Godzilla franchise. If you’re a fan of kaiju, anime, or the MonsterVerse-style spectacle, this trailer remake of Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters is for you. Let me know what you think — would you have marketed the film differently?

Godzillasaurus and the Dorats

In this video, I’m taking a close look at two standout pieces from Bandai’s Ichibansho line: Godzillasaurus and the Dorats 🦖🔥 We’ll break down sculpt quality, paint apps, scale, and overall presentation, plus how these figures stack up against other Ichibansho and Godzilla collectibles. Whether you’re a longtime kaiju collector or just getting into Godzilla figures, this review covers what works, what could be better, and whether these are worth adding to your shelf. If you’re a fan of Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah (1991) or just love deep-cut kaiju designs, these figures definitely deserve a closer look.

X-Plus 25cm Godzilla 1974 Figure Review

The X-Plus 25cm Godzilla 1974 Toho Daikaiju Series was released in late January of 2025. Based on the Mekka goji suit from the 1974 film Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla, this highly detailed figure captures the likeliness of the big G perfectly! We have Monster Maker 28 sculptor Shunsuke Niwa to thank for the love and attention put into this film accurate representation of our favorite King of the Monsters! I’m taking us back to where this suit originally came from, 1973’s Godzilla vs. Megalon. If you remember the SoshingekiGoji suit was finally retired after 4 years and 4 movies. And none to soon, as it was beginning to fall apart in 1972’s Godzilla vs Gigan. The brand new, MegaroGoji suit was built with softer features, including pillow-like dorsal fins, large brown eyes, a rounded-flat snout and articulated eyes and eyelids. These characteristics gave Godzilla a somewhat wholesome and friendly look. Some minor changes were made to this suit for Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla (1974). The articulation in the eyes and eyelids were dropped as well as greater detail added to the muzzle. His eye color was darkened to be completely black. He’s not the specifically portrayed in this film as the kid-friendly hero. This Godzilla is ready to fight and defend his territory! There’s only room for one Godzilla on this planet! Measuring at a height of 31cm, or just over 12”, and a length from front to tail of 34cm or just over 13”. The version represented in this video is the standard version of the X-Plus 25cm Godzilla 1974 . The Shonen Ric Exclusive version includes interchangeable arms. This figure was purchased from Kokomo Toys and Collectibles.

Super7 Blazing Godzilla 1995 Toho Ultimates (1200º Clear Orange) UNBOXING and REVIEW

It’s time to unbox the Super7 Blazing Godzilla! Today’s color is “Er-Gis” or Orange in english. From the Super7 Site: Godzilla gets more than a little hot-under-the-collar when it faces off against the mighty Destoroyah and its devastating Oxygen Destroyer Ray! Measuring 8” tall, 4.5” wide, and a monstrous 14” long to the tip of its tail, the latest highly articulated Toho ULTIMATES! Super7 Blazing Godzilla (1200º) figure is inspired by the 1995 film Godzilla vs. Destoroyah and depicts the mighty leviathan in a fiery translucent orange colorway, an interchangeable head, and six interchangeable claws. This Blazing 1200° Godzilla ULTIMATES! figure may look too hot to handle, but we’ve done extensive testing and can confirm that it’s 100% safe to add to any Kaiju collection! I ordered this figure from the Target website.

This figure includes an interchangeable alternate head. One open mouthed and the other closed. I also includes interchangeable hands. The translucent orange color makes this Super7 Blazing Godzilla a standout in the collection of any kaiju fan.

Evelyn Grace, my 5 year old daughter joins me for this review. She is a big fan of Godzilla and the color orange (she calls it Er-gis). Evelyn brings a lot of joy to my life and loves to be on camera for these box days on The Monster Report.

Godzilla 1998 Figure Review and Retrospective

Monster reviews, monster trailers, monster toys…oh my!
Godzilla 1998 had a run of toys released in the late 90’s from a company known as Trendmasters. One of the largest figures they released was the Godzilla Ultimate. It retailed for around $50, which was a high dollar amount for a toy of that time. Today, this is a highly sought after figure and now, it’s a new addition to Monster HQ! Check out this figure review with bonus skit for an opening!
